The success of the Kauai did not prevent Hyundai from launching an even more compact SUV in Europe, the Bayon, the fifth car with the fashionable format in the manufacturer’s catalog and the first truly in segment B.

With a name that refers to the French village of Bayonne, the capital of the French Basque Country, in the Pyrenees region, famous for its beautiful coastal landscapes, the Bayon made its debut in the market in 2021, taking advantage of the modern image that the brand has now decided to “refresh” in less than three years.

Among the novelties, the adoption of some style elements imported from the new Kauai stands out. Namely, the front end now features a full-width LED line, redesigned bumpers and radiator grille, as well as rear bumpers and 16 or 17-inch wheels.

New colors will be added to the options list (‘Lumen Grey Pearl’, ‘Meta Blue Pearl’, ‘Lucid Lime Metallic’, and ‘Vibrant Blue Pearl’), which can be combined with a black roof to create the two-tone finish.

In the interior, the integration of a 10.25″ instrument panel stands out, combined with a 10.25″ screen for the multimedia system, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless smartphone charger, and the latest generation of Bluelink technology.

Other improvements include LED ambient lighting, which can be adaptive in the front section of the cabin, and the availability of navigation-based intelligent cruise control (NSCC) to autonomously adjust the speed when driving on a highway or expressway.

No changes are expected in the range of engines.
