The German sports car preparer, HWA, created by one of the founders of AMG, Hans Werner Aufrech, announced that it will create a model based on the well-known Mercedes 190E.
The HWA Evo is a sports car that will be built to celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary and to pay homage to the well-known model of the German brand. It will be based on the chassis of the 190E, a very popular model that gained greater visibility with the original 190E Evo II version from the 1990s and the Evo, as they were built to meet the homologation rules of the DTM and featured 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engines developed by Cosworth, along with chassis and aerodynamic updates similar to those of real racing cars.
A total of 502 units were manufactured of each version, making them one of the rarest modern Mercedes models.
The first drawings, now revealed, of the HWA Evo show that the new model features a design very similar to the 190E Evo II, and it is certain that HWA will not produce a replica of the Mercedes model, but rather a version that promises to use modern technology in the engine, as well as state-of-the-art chassis, brakes, aerodynamics, and safety.
