NEOM McLaren’s Jake Hughes continued his impressive qualifying performance with a stunning pole position for this afternoon’s second Misano E-Prix.
Hughes secured fourth place in yesterday’s qualifying session but was disqualified, resulting in him starting from the back of the grid. Today, he will be hoping for better luck as his calm and exceptionally fast driving allowed him to overtake DS Penske’s Jean-Eric Vergne in the final showdown.
Pascal Wehrlein, who finished last in yesterday’s race after a collision with Vergne, will start in third place, while Nico Müller secured an impressive fourth place. Hughes’ teammate Sam Bird is in fifth position, increasing McLaren’s chances of success. Stoffel Vandoorne is in sixth place, followed by Robin Frijns in seventh and Nick Cassidy in eighth.
Jake Dennis, who finished second in yesterday’s race after starting in 17th place, is aiming for a victory after qualifying in ninth place. Yesterday’s winner, Oliver Rowland, completes the top 10.
Antonio Felix da Costa, who was disqualified despite his sensational victory yesterday, faces a tough challenge starting from the back of the grid.

GROUP A
Max Günther and Vergne set the pace early on, with Nyck de Vries also showing promise. However, it was Nick Cassidy who clinched the top spot in the end, with Robin Frijns, the fastest in FP3, in second. Nico Müller finished third, followed by Vergne in fourth.
Yesterday’s winner, Oliver Rowland, Max Günther, and Antonio Felix da Costa were the most notable drivers eliminated from this group.
GROUP B
Jake Hughes continued his impressive one-lap performance by leading the second group, finishing over a tenth of a second ahead of Wehrlein. Bird managed to secure a spot in the eliminations in the final moments, finishing third ahead of Vandoorne.
Dennis once again failed to advance, losing by a slim margin. Yesterday’s pole position holder, Mitch Evans, also failed to progress.
QUARTER-FINALS
The first duel was not even close, as Müller dominated Frijns by seven tenths of a second, with the German just three hundredths away from the one minute and sixteen mark.
In the duel between Vergne and Cassidy, both drivers broke the time barrier, but it was Cassidy who surprised everyone by beating Vergne. However, due to exceeding track limits, Cassidy was quickly eliminated, allowing Vergne to advance to the semi-finals.
The duel between Bird and Wehrlein was also incredibly close, with the German narrowly beating the Englishman. Lap times continued to drop as the competition intensified.
Hughes continued where he left off on Saturday, securing a spot in the semi-finals with an impressive time of 1:16.413, six tenths faster than Vandoorne.
SEMI-FINALS
Müller had no answer for Vergne in their semi-final duel, with the ABT Cupra finishing a full second behind Vergne’s time. This once again showed that the Penske team will be a strong contender during the race.
Hughes overcame the challenge of Wehrlein, advancing to the final by just five hundredths of a second. The Birmingham native is determined to prove his worth after a disappointing qualifying session that compromised his race yesterday.
FINAL
In a highly anticipated race following yesterday’s session, Hughes secured an impressive pole position with a time of 1:16.538, two tenths ahead of Vergne. With two unexpected teams performing exceptionally well this weekend, the prospect of an exciting E-Prix is extremely high.

Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton achieved another impressive victory at the Monaco Grand Prix this Sunday. Hamilton dominated the race from the start and crossed the finish line in first place, securing his sixth consecutive victory this season. With this result, the British driver further extends his lead in the world championship for drivers.
The race in Monaco was marked by a lot of excitement and fierce competition. Hamilton started in pole position and maintained the lead throughout the race, once again showing his skill and dominance on the tracks. The Mercedes driver didn’t give his opponents any chances and crossed the finish line with a comfortable lead.
With this victory, Hamilton now has 150 points in the world championship, widening his lead over second-placed Max Verstappen, who has 105 points. The Red Bull driver had a consistent race and finished in second place, but couldn’t threaten Hamilton’s dominance.
In addition to Hamilton and Verstappen, other drivers also stood out in the Monaco race. Sergio Perez of Red Bull had an excellent recovery race and finished in third place, securing a spot on the podium. Charles Leclerc of Ferrari also had a good performance and crossed the finish line in fourth place.
With the result of the Monaco Grand Prix, Hamilton solidifies himself as the clear favorite for this season’s title. The British driver has shown impeccable performance and has been practically unbeatable on the tracks. Now it remains for his opponents to find a way to challenge him and try to reduce the championship leader’s advantage. The next race will be in Baku, Azerbaijan, and promises to be another great challenge for Hamilton and his competitors.
