A Horse, the engine division of the Renault group, which has a production unit in Portugal that manufactures the new electronic power units for hybrid engines, has now announced that it has signed an agreement with the Turkish manufacturer Habas for the supply of Diesel engines.
The agreement now announced is the first major collaboration of Horse with a car manufacturer outside of its current ownership relationship.
Horse’s experience in supplying advanced and efficient engines makes its 2.0-liter M920 RWD turbodiesel with 170 hp at 3500 rpm and a maximum torque of 380 Nm at 1500 rpm a natural choice for Habas, which will use the engine in its first light commercial vehicles.
“The first major contract with a new car manufacturer is a significant milestone for the company and highlights our ambition to provide leading low-emission engines to customers worldwide,” emphasized Patrice Haettel, CEO of Horse.
