Horse inicia produção do novo motor Flex HR13 no Brasil

A Horse, the engine division of the Renault group, announced the start of production of the new turbo Flex “HR13” engine with a displacement of 1.3 liters and 4 cylinders at its facilities in Curitiba, Brazil.

This new version of the HR13 turbo engine from Horse has been specifically designed for the South American market, delivering 163 hp and a maximum torque of 250 Nm at 1600 rpm.

Additionally, this engine can operate smoothly with gasoline/ethanol mixtures, which are common in Brazilian mobility, and is fully compliant with emission standards.

The HR13 benefits from a direct injection system developed specifically for the use of ethanol. Each cylinder is equipped with a centrally mounted six-hole injector that operates at a pressure of 200 bar, designed for fuel atomization that delivers power and torque effortlessly while maintaining fuel efficiency.

The start of HR13 production adds to the growing production capacity of Horse RSE in Brazil, following the commencement of manufacturing its “HR10” engine with a displacement of 1.0 liters and 3 cylinders in early 2024.

“This change reinforces our commitment to the Brazilian and South American markets. Our message has always been clear: there is no one-size-fits-all approach to global mobility, but rather tailored solutions that reflect regional needs. The HR13 embodies this spirit, powered by flexible, low-emission fuel and optimized for the Brazilian market,” said Patrice Haettel, CEO of Horse.
