Horner frustrado pela proposta de Wolff para Verstappen em 2026.

The head of the Mercedes Formula 1 team, Toto Wolff, received a strong rebuke from the Red Bull team’s principal director, Christian Horner, for his recent public pursuit of Max Verstappen after the Chinese Grand Prix. After another disappointing weekend in China, where Wolff acknowledged the team’s struggles with a difficult car, the conversation quickly turned to how Wolff would convince Verstappen to join a team that consistently performs well and finishes in sixth place. Wolff made it clear that he understands that Mercedes’ chances of hiring Verstappen do not depend solely on the team’s current performance. Horner, on the other hand, firmly rejected any suggestion that Verstappen would leave Red Bull, emphasizing the importance of the driver’s relationship with the team and his performance on the track. Verstappen himself has repeatedly affirmed his commitment to Red Bull, highlighting the importance of a peaceful and supportive environment. Despite this, Wolff continues to openly court Verstappen, expressing his belief that Mercedes will be a strong force in future Formula 1 rule changes. While Wolff acknowledges that Verstappen’s decision depends on various factors, he believes that Mercedes is well positioned for the future. Horner, however, suggests that Wolff should focus on his team’s performance rather than the driver market. As discussions continue, it remains to be seen whether Verstappen will stay at Red Bull or consider a move to Mercedes.
