Honda has confirmed three world premieres for the 2026 edition of the Tokyo Auto Salon, an event to be held on January 9, 10, and 11 at the Chiba exhibition center (Makuhari Messe), a city in the metropolitan area of Japan’s capital. The Civic Type R HRC Concept, Prelude HRC Concept, and Civic e:HEV RS Prototype are “expressions” of the “passion for performance in driving” and represent the brand’s DNA.

The Civic Type R HRC Concept is an enhanced version of Honda’s front-wheel-drive sports car, developed based on the experience gained in competition by Honda Racing Corporation. The Prelude HRC Concept makes the recently revived coupe even more attractive, as it features a handful of specific components. Finally, the Civic e:HEV RS Prototype announces the introduction of a sportier version of the brand’s popular compact, and includes the second application of the S+ Shift automatic transmission that simulates shifts of a manual system.
At the 2026 Auto Salon, Honda will also showcase the HRC Prelude-GT, the race car with which it will compete in the upcoming season of Super GT, a highly popular championship in Japan, in the top GT500 category.
