Honda continues to develop its strategic plan towards electric mobility and, in this regard, is making substantial investments in the re-equipping of its production units.
The Japanese brand announced an investment of $700 million (approximately €630 million) for the implementation of the Honda EV Hub in Ohio, USA, which will serve as a reference for electric vehicle production in North America.
As Honda prepares to begin production of electric vehicles at its Marysville production unit by the end of 2025, re-equipping efforts are already underway, which include preparations for automobile production and the internal assembly of the Intelligent Power Unit (IPU), which integrates the electric battery into the vehicle platform.
It is worth noting that Honda has committed to making a strong investment to transform its automobile production units in Marysville and East Liberty, as well as the engine plant in Anna, in order to lead the start of electric vehicle production in North America. This ecosystem will serve as an inspiration for the brand’s electric vehicle production in various markets.
