Honda mostra futuro elétrico com nova série de veículos

Honda took advantage of its presence at CES in Las Vegas to unveil its vision of the future of electric mobility, with two prototypes of the new Generation 0 Series, which will hit the market in 2026.

With the goal of achieving carbon neutrality in all its products and corporate activities by 2050, and after initially hesitating about fully electric vehicles, the Japanese brand is focused on moving towards a zero-emission future and for that it has in this new series of 100% electric vehicles the challenge of embarking on a new journey in automobile production.

The first of the prototypes presented by Honda is the Sallon, a sedan with a sporty style, a wedge-shaped front, gull-wing doors, and an interior that the brand says is more spacious than one can imagine. In addition, the instrument panel has a human-machine interface (HMI) that allows for simple and intuitive operations, along with a yoke steering wheel with “steer-by-wire” system.

It is also worth noting the sport seats that have two screens on the back that are available to passengers, in a model where the materials used, both inside and outside, are of sustainable origin.

Honda has announced that the Sallon is practically ready for production and will be a reality within two years, initially being launched in the US and then in Europe.

The Japanese brand did not reveal details about the mechanics of this prototype, but it did say that the new models in the Generation 0 Series will offer high-density batteries for long range, and that some of the vehicles will have the capacity for fast charging that will allow for a 15 to 80% charge in 15 minutes or less. In terms of battery degradation, Honda has revealed that it intends for its 100% electric models to still have batteries with at least 90% of their original range after a decade of use.

The second prototype presented by Honda at CES was the Space-Hub, a minivan based on a new design philosophy that focuses on a spacious, versatile, highly visible, and connected cabin.

This futuristic electric model, which has no set production date, features a large glass roof that extends over the passengers, who enjoy a spacious environment and a living experience in the cabin worthy of a living room.

In addition to presenting these two new prototypes, Honda also unveiled its new logo, which according to the company reflects the company’s determination to “expand the possibilities of mobility and continue to meet the needs of its customers”.
