Honda revela dois protótipos elétricos que antecipam os primeiros modelos da Série 0

One year after unveiling two electric concepts that anticipated the electric future at CES in Las Vegas, Honda returned this year to CES to introduce the prototypes, which are very close to the production version of the 0 Saloon and 0 SUV.

Both the sedan and the SUV will be produced at Honda’s EV Hub in Ohio, USA, and it is already known that the SUV is scheduled to launch in North America in early 2026, while the sedan will arrive at the end of next year.

The SUV is an evolution of the Space Hub concept revealed last year, opting for a crossover silhouette, with a distinctly sloped windshield, and a squared-off rear section marked by U-shaped taillights and a thin rear window.

Inside, the SUV features two rows of seats and stands out with a cabin dominated by a generously sized screen, including a display for the front passenger and screens for the cameras that replace traditional side mirrors.

The 0 Saloon is described as the flagship offering of the Series 0 and stays true to the concept image presented last year, featuring a low wedge-shaped body and a front that resembles the Lamborghini Gallardo.

With a more minimalist design, this new generation of electric vehicles from Honda also leverages the brand’s experience in Formula 1, equipped with a new platform that includes batteries promising to be about 8 mm thinner than competing models, which can be integrated into the lower part of the platform.

This solution, according to Honda, enhances dynamic behavior, allowing for more interior space, improving efficiency, and enabling the Saloon to have a lower ride height.

Although Honda has not revealed details about the powertrain, it is known that the new electric models of the Series 0 will be equipped with one or two new “e-axle” motors, powered by batteries with 80-90 kWh that promise a range of up to 438 km. The larger models will feature a battery of around 100 kWh.

Honda has also revealed that the two models will be equipped with a level 3 autonomous driving system, developed in collaboration with Helm.ai, as well as a “high-performance system-on-chip” (SoC) hardware platform, which promises faster operations compared to current models while consuming less energy, created in partnership with Renesas Electronics Corporation.

Additionally, the artificial intelligence software system ASIMO, developed by Honda, incorporates various cameras, sensors, and “advanced intelligence technologies.”

Furthermore, Honda has highlighted that it has an agreement with seven other companies to implement a high-speed electric charging network in North America by 2030, with the Series 0 models equipped with North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging ports, allowing owners access to over 100,000 charging stations in the USA.

It is already known that after the start of sales in the USA, the two Series 0 models from Honda will arrive in other markets, including Europe, and that by 2027, the introduction of a seven-seater model is planned, as well as two SUVs, in addition to a compact sedan that is expected to arrive later.
