Honda has introduced the new N-VAN, a 100% electric mini commercial vehicle that uses the base of the popular and versatile combustion-powered model and adds unique user-friendly features of electric vehicles, as well as offering the same cargo space and a wide passenger-side opening to facilitate loading and unloading.
The new model, available from October only for the Japanese market in the first phase, comes with a range of 245 km, which Honda states was only possible to achieve along with sufficient cargo space by adopting a large capacity battery, which the Japanese brand does not specify the capacity, and by reducing the size of the unit that houses the electric modules and minimizing the space occupied by components, by centralizing their arrangement.
In addition, the 100% electric N-VAN has a charging time of approximately 4.5 hours for normal charging – 6.0 kW of power, and approximately 30 minutes for fast charging of 50 kW. Honda also mentioned that the battery cooling and heating system inhibits performance degradation caused by high or low temperatures, contributing to shorter charging time and greater range, especially during winter.
The new Honda commercial will be available in four versions, with all the exclusive features of an electric vehicle, accommodating the diverse needs of drivers.
