To mark the end of production of the iconic Civic Type R, Honda created an interactive map featuring over 120 roads in 25 countries, selected by fans and industry experts for driving the well-known model of the Japanese brand.
Under the name “Honda Dream Drives“, the routes stretch from the far north of Scotland in the UK to the south of Portugal, each carefully chosen to offer everything from magnificent curves to breathtaking views.
The adventures can be explored thematically: scenic, coastal, cross-country, and mountainous, in any chosen country, with the experience enhanced by compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on mobile devices.
The Portuguese route of this “Dream Drives” does not go through the well-known Nacional 2, but rather through the connection called Praias do Alentejo and Algarve, a 170 km link connecting Vila Nova de Milfontes on the Alentejo coast to Vila Nova de Cacela on the Algarve coast.
Other recommended highlights from this interactive map include the Alpine Road in Germany, with 484 km, the famous mountain road of the Alps, Stelvio Pass, in Italy, as well as the Transfagarasan, and the Col de Turini in France.
“Creating a unique interactive map from a collection of specially selected and unprecedented roads is the perfect way to say goodbye to the Civic Type R in Europe. As the pinnacle of Honda’s sporting performance and drivability in recent history, icons like the Type R come to life when driven for pure pleasure, and this exclusive map allows dynamics enthusiasts to experience its potential anywhere in Europe”, said Nik Pearson, General Communications Director of Honda Motor Europe.
