Hennessey, the Texas-based manufacturer of supercars, has unveiled its high-performance version of the Mustang Dark Horse, named “H850,” which the American company is producing.
Hennessey engineers, not satisfied with the 500 hp power output from the 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 Gen-4 Coyote engine, decided to enhance the power by 70%, resulting in an impressive 850 hp and 884 Nm of maximum torque.
To achieve this, the Hennessey team added a high-performance supercharger, high-flow air intake system, upgraded fuel injectors, as well as a new fuel pump, and a revised engine electronic management system.
These modifications allow the “H850” to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, compared to the original version’s 3.7 seconds, with a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
In addition, the American tuner states that the stock Dark Horse completes the quarter-mile in 12 seconds, while the “H850” covers the distance in 10.9 seconds.
“Our supercharged H850 Mustang Dark Horse is based on Ford’s commitment to provide automotive enthusiasts with exciting products, like the powerful S650 Mustang with a V8 engine. We are excited to showcase Hennessey’s passion for performance in America’s most iconic muscle car with all the sights, sounds, smells, and sensations that make our blood pump!”, emphasized John Hennessey, founder and CEO of the company.
The American brand also mentioned that the “H850” can be visually enhanced to the customer’s liking with optional Hennessey Heritage Graphics and high-performance forged anthracite wheels. Additionally, each model features Hennessey and H850 badges, as well as embroidered Hennessey headrests and an engine plaque with a serial number.
