However, Marko has backed Horner’s comments, acknowledging Russell’s impressive pace this season compared to his veteran teammate Hamilton. Marko specifically highlighted Russell’s superior qualifying performances, suggesting that the young Briton may have an edge over the seven-time world champion.
“George Russell is as fast as, if not faster than, Hamilton in qualifying,” Marko stated. “But George Russell is tied to the Mercedes brand.”

“I think for now we will focus on our juniors,” Marko continued. “Franco Colapinto has done an incredible job. Now, we are going to see what our juniors can do.”
