Title: Explosive Accusations Rock Red Bull Racing: Helmut Marko Blasts Christian Horner for “Dirty Tricks” Amid Power Struggle

Tensions have reached a boiling point within the Red Bull Racing team, as former competition advisor Helmut Marko, who recently exited the organization, unleashed a torrent of accusations against Christian Horner. This shocking revelation follows Horner’s controversial departure from his role as team principal after the British Grand Prix, and it’s stirring up a storm in the motorsport world.

In a candid interview with prominent European media outlets, including the Dutch publication De Telegraaf, the 82-year-old Marko did not hold back, claiming that Horner has been engaging in manipulative tactics to seize control of the team following the death of Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz. Marko’s allegations paint a picture of an internal power struggle that could have significant ramifications for the future of the team.

Marko asserted that Horner sought to bolster the influence of Chalerm Yoovidhya, the Thai co-founder of Red Bull GmbH, at the expense of the traditional Austrian management. “After Mateschitz passed away in 2022, Horner did everything to take control with Yoovidhya’s backing,” Marko declared, emphasizing that he fought to protect the Austrian side of the company against these maneuvers.

The accusations escalate as Marko claimed Horner attempted to suspend him in 2024, citing comments Marko allegedly never made regarding development delays and pilot criticisms. “The environment became intolerable. They were playing dirty games,” Marko lamented, revealing that only the intervention of reigning champion Max Verstappen prevented his dismissal. He accused Horner of fabricating numerous public controversies linked to his name, further eroding trust within the team.

Marko went on to suggest that the declining performance of the team justified Horner’s ousting, suggesting that if this change had been made sooner, Verstappen could have clinched a fifth consecutive title. The pivotal loss of trust from Chalerm Yoovidhya in Horner, fueled by alleged internal deceit, seems to have been a critical factor leading to Horner’s downfall.

As Red Bull Racing braces for a significant overhaul, Laurent Mekies, previously of Ferrari and AlphaTauri, steps into the spotlight as the new team principal. The stakes are high as the team prepares for the 2026 season, when new technical regulations will be implemented. The question now looms: can Mekies restore stability and competitive edge in an organization where internal divisions have erupted into public view?

This unfolding drama within Red Bull Racing is not just about leadership changes; it’s a reflection of the intense pressure and high stakes in the world of Formula 1. The fallout from Marko’s explosive revelations threatens to reshape the landscape of one of the most successful teams in recent history. Buckle up, because this story is far from over!
