The Red Bull’s single-seater for the 2024 Formula 1 season has indeed failed an impact test by the FIA. The rumors that surfaced last week have now been confirmed by Helmut Marko.
Quoted by grandprix.com, the team consultant downplayed the situation… emphasizing that approval would actually be a problem at this stage: ‘If we had passed the first impact test, that would be precisely the problem; then we wouldn’t have done well enough.’
Red Bull opts for an aggressive and extreme approach in some of its concepts, led by the wizard Adrian Newey. It has happened more than once in the past that single-seaters bearing the signature of the British engineer have “failed” the initial impact tests before eventually receiving the green light.
