Helmut Marko claims that Guenther Steiner did not handle Mick Schumacher properly while he was at Haas

Mick Schumacher accumulated a mere 12 points throughout his tenure at Haas F1, despite frequently being involved in numerous crashes. Guenther Steiner, the former team principal of Haas, received a subtle criticism from a Red Bull Technical Advisor. This advisor was present during Schumacher’s arrival at Haas, following a successful stint in Formula 2. Schumacher joined the Kannapolis-based team in 2021 after achieving victories in both F3 and F2. However, his time with the team was short-lived as he was dismissed after just two seasons, having only managed to gather 12 points for the team during that period.

Helmut Marko, on the other hand, has expressed his support for Schumacher and believes he is a talented driver deserving of an F1 seat. Marko blames Guenther Steiner for not fully utilizing Schumacher’s capabilities during his time with the team. Currently serving as a reserve driver for Mercedes, Schumacher has been rumored to make a comeback to the grid in 2025. He will be hoping for favorable negotiations to showcase his worth on the track once again.

Meanwhile, the former team principal of Ferrari is set to take on the role of COO and CTO at Audi in 2026. In light of this news, Guenther Steiner has offered some advice to Binotto to assist the team in achieving their F1 goals. Audi is set to acquire the Sauber F1 team in 2025, with plans to establish their own independent team the following year. Steiner has urged Mattia Binotto to focus on building a suitable structure to enhance Sauber’s situation in 2026.
