Heartbreak at Imola as Safety Car Thwarts Hadjar’s 7th Place Dream | F1

Isack Hadjar Left Fuming as Safety Car Costs Him 7th Place Finish

The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix saw Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar putting up a strong performance, only to be thwarted by the ill-timed appearance of the Safety Car. Despite securing a decent finish within the points, the French driver couldn’t hide his disappointment at missing out on a potentially better result.

Racing on their home turf at Imola, the Racing Bulls team had a relatively positive weekend, with Hadjar once again proving to be a standout performer. Starting from 9th on the grid, he maintained his position during the race and was on the verge of matching his best Formula 1 result of 8th place in Japan. However, the untimely intervention of the Safety Car dashed his hopes of a higher finish, ultimately settling for 7th place.

Speaking about the race, Hadjar expressed his frustration, stating, “It was a good weekend here at Imola, and I’m satisfied with my performance. I had a tough start to the race, losing two positions, which didn’t help our cause. I was running in 7th at one point and thought we could bring it home, but unfortunately, the Safety Car came out, and it was a shame for us.”

The French driver managed to secure two points for the team, but the missed opportunity left a bitter taste. Looking ahead to the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix, Hadjar acknowledged the challenges but expressed excitement at the prospect of racing on the iconic circuit as a rookie.

The Emilia-Romagna GP also highlighted the struggles of Hadjar’s teammates, with none of them able to break into the top 10. Liam Lawson, who replaced Yuki Tsunoda at Red Bull, could only manage a 14th place finish, adding to the team’s disappointment.

Reflecting on the race weekend, Lawson remarked, “We had good potential and pace throughout the weekend, but unfortunately, we couldn’t demonstrate it, and that pushed us towards the back. It was a tough weekend, but I’ll keep working hard to turn things around. Every weekend is a learning experience, and I’m getting more accustomed to the car. Monaco is a special track, and I’m thrilled to race there for the first time.”

As Racing Bulls grapple with mixed fortunes, all eyes are now on the upcoming challenges as the team seeks to bounce back from a challenging race weekend at Imola.
