Lewis Hamilton wished for Lando Norris to celebrate his remarkable victory in Miami.

The victory at {race name} was celebrated by everyone in the paddock. Hamilton was no exception, as the Mercedes star offered some words of support to the 24-year-old driver. Norris had plans to return home after the race, but due to his first win, the McLaren driver felt the need to celebrate. Hamilton encouraged Norris to stay in America and enjoy the memorable occasion.

Hamilton was one of Norris’ biggest supporters in his first F1 victory. The seven-time world champion was seen applauding Norris from his challenging W15 after the checkered flag. Therefore, Hamilton recently commented on Norris’ win in his first race. The 39-year-old driver expressed his genuine happiness for the 24-year-old and urged him to extend his stay in America to savor this incredible achievement.

Furthermore, Hamilton emphasized the importance of a driver’s first win in the pinnacle of motorsport. As a former McLaren driver, he recalled his own experience and acknowledged that it was even more special due to McLaren’s long absence at the front of the F1 grid. Therefore, Norris’ victory held even greater significance for these reasons.

Mercedes faced challenges in the ground effect era in the 2024 season as well. However, the team introduced upgrades to their challenging car at the Miami GP, which allowed Hamilton to secure an impressive sixth place during the American weekend. Consequently, the 39-year-old driver felt encouraged by the race results. Hamilton also praised the team’s excellent work and their ability to optimize the W15 chassis setup.

Furthermore, Hamilton expressed his satisfaction in competing on track and gradually climbing up the standings. He felt more comfortable racing for positions on track. In the end, Hamilton was close to the Ferrari and Red Bulls. As a result, the Mercedes star considered it an exciting race and eagerly awaited the next event in Imola.

Mercedes will continue to fight for better results in the upcoming races. The team has been behind McLaren in the constructors’ championship. However, performances like Norris’ victory have made Hamilton even happier, despite not winning.
