Hawks’ Disappointing Season Takes Another Hit as Capela Suffers Injury
The Atlanta Hawks’ hopes of a successful 2023-24 NBA regular season have been shattered. Despite the leadership of superstar guard Trae Young, the team finds itself struggling and barely in the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference with a disappointing record of 22-27 after 49 games.

Unfortunately, the team has been dealt another blow with the injury of veteran center Clint Capela. Capela has been diagnosed with a left adductor strain and will undergo re-evaluation in seven-to-ten days, according to Marc J. Spears of ESPN.
Capela’s absence will be sorely felt by the team. The 29-year-old has been averaging a double-double in the 47 games he has played this season, contributing 11.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting an impressive 57.5% from the floor.
Not only will the Hawks miss Capela’s on-court contributions, but his name has also been circulating in trade rumors. This injury could potentially impact any ongoing trade talks as the deadline approaches.
