Hamilton’s MotoGP Ambitions: Team Ownership Rumors Gain Momentum

Toto Wolff reveals Lewis Hamilton’s secret superbike test: ‘He fell… but he’s a natural on two wheels!’

Lewis Hamilton, known for his versatility and interests beyond Formula 1, is reportedly exploring team ownership in MotoGP. The seven-time F1 World Champion has long expressed admiration for the two-wheeled racing world, and new reports suggest he’s teaming up with former Audi F1 boss Alessandro Alunni Bravi to make his mark on the sport.

Hamilton’s MotoGP Plans

Rumors indicate that Hamilton is not merely seeking to acquire an existing team but is exploring the creation of a brand-new MotoGP team. This ambitious approach reportedly gained traction after Alunni Bravi, recently ousted from Audi’s F1 project, became involved in the discussions. Bravi’s extensive motorsport management experience could be a key asset in Hamilton’s MotoGP venture.

Adding fuel to the speculation, Liberty Media—the company that owns Formula 1—is rumored to be interested in acquiring MotoGP. If Liberty’s purchase materializes, it could facilitate Hamilton’s entry into the sport, leveraging the existing relationship between F1 and MotoGP under a shared ownership structure.

Targeting KTM?

While the focus has largely been on creating a new team, reports also suggest Hamilton may be eyeing KTM, a MotoGP team reportedly grappling with financial difficulties. Acquiring a struggling team and revitalizing it could present a faster route to success than starting from scratch. However, no official confirmation or denial has come from Hamilton, Bravi, or KTM about these rumors.

Hamilton’s Dual Ventures with Ferrari

Hamilton’s MotoGP ambitions coincide with his move to Ferrari in Formula 1 for the 2025 season. Ferrari has already capitalized on Hamilton’s arrival, securing major sponsorship deals, including a high-profile partnership with a pan-European banking group. This deal underscores Hamilton’s immense brand value and his ability to attract global partners.

Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna emphasized the strategic timing of the announcement:

“It is a partnership that we wanted to announce shortly before the arrival of Lewis Hamilton, placing people at the center: those of our companies and of all the communities that gravitate around us.”

Hamilton’s experience and star power are expected to elevate Ferrari’s championship prospects as the team looks to build on its impressive 2024 campaign.

MotoGP Meets F1 Stardom

Hamilton’s potential entry into MotoGP represents more than just diversification; it’s a testament to his passion for motorsport in all its forms. By teaming up with Alunni Bravi, Hamilton is positioning himself as a transformative figure who could bridge the worlds of F1 and MotoGP, creating new opportunities for both sports.

While details remain speculative, Hamilton’s deep involvement signals his intent to leave a lasting impact across motorsport’s most elite categories. Fans of both F1 and MotoGP will be eagerly watching for further developments.
