Lewis Hamilton Left Stunned as Max Verstappen Soars in Championship Race: “How is He Just 12 Points Behind?”

In a jaw-dropping twist in the F1 championship saga, Lewis Hamilton was left reeling after discovering that Max Verstappen, the formidable Dutch driver, has surged to just 12 points behind Lando Norris following his sensational victory at the Qatar Grand Prix. As the adrenaline-fueled battle for the title approaches its thrilling climax in Abu Dhabi, Hamilton’s astonishment was palpable.

Upon arriving at the media pen for his post-race interviews, the seven-time world champion was blissfully unaware of the dramatic developments that had unfolded at the Lusail International Circuit. It took a prompt from RacingNews365 for Hamilton to grasp the staggering implications of Verstappen’s win, leading him to question, “How’s Max 12 behind now?”

Hamilton’s lack of awareness about the race results highlighted a frustrating drawback of the Lusail circuit, where he lamented the absence of screens that could have kept him informed about the race’s dynamic shifts. “It would be helpful to add more screens around the 5.419 km layout,” he admitted, emphasizing that without them, he felt “blind” to the on-track action.

As the championship picture crystallizes, Oscar Piastri trails behind Verstappen and Norris, now sitting 16 points adrift. Hamilton, upon learning about the standings, expressed disbelief: “Max won? Oh shit, I didn’t know, I had no idea! Holy shit! Wow! I thought Piastri won… Well, that’s exciting! It goes right to the last — to the wire.”

In a reflective moment regarding Verstappen, Hamilton acknowledged the Dutchman’s remarkable capabilities, noting, “We all know Max does a great job.” He also recognized the advantage of the Red Bull team, stating, “I think he’s got a phenomenal team behind him. There’s no denying that they’ve had the best car really over the last four years, and maybe less so at the beginning of this year. But they somehow came back.”

This thrilling championship showdown not only keeps fans on the edge of their seats but also sets the stage for what promises to be a nail-biting finale in Abu Dhabi. Will Verstappen continue his momentum, or can Norris fend off the challenge? As the tension mounts, the world of Formula 1 holds its breath for the ultimate showdown.
