Lewis Hamilton, the British driver for Mercedes AMG F1, has revealed that he is willing to join the Ferrari Formula 1 team in 2025 without any familiar faces from his current team. This announcement comes after Hamilton activated a clause in his contract with Mercedes to secure a move to Ferrari, causing a stir in the F1 driver market. While Ferrari has already hired other members from Mercedes, such as Loic Serra and Jerome d’Ambrosio, there are speculations that more members, including Hamilton’s race engineer Peter Bonnington, may follow suit. However, Hamilton emphasized that he does not rely on familiar faces to adapt to a new team, citing his own experience when he joined Mercedes in 2013. He mentioned that although he worked closely with Serra and Jock Clear, his former number two, at Mercedes, he is confident in his ability to build new working relationships at Ferrari. Hamilton also highlighted his friendship with Fred Vasseur, with whom he collaborated during his early years in Formula 3 and GP2. Despite this, Hamilton acknowledged the need to have discussions with Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff to navigate the transition smoothly, as he has never been in this situation at this time of year before.
