Hailie Deegan’s New Chapter: IndyCar Debut Looms as Family Legacy Takes Center Stage

Hailie Deegan, a rising star in motorsports, is preparing to make her IndyCar debut in the 2025 season. As March approaches, the clock is ticking for the NASCAR alum to shift gears—literally and figuratively—into open-wheel racing. While she readies herself for this monumental career pivot, Deegan is also showcasing her life off the track on her YouTube channel. A recent upload brought fans into a family affair, highlighting her younger brother Hudson’s first steps into more advanced racing—a journey that tested both his skills and his sister’s patience.

Hudson Deegan’s First Tag Kart Adventure

Like his older sister, Hudson Deegan shares a passion for motorsports, though he’s still finding his footing. In the video, Hailie invites Hudson to North Carolina’s Go Pro Motorplex for a practice session in her Tag Kart. Known for their speed and technical precision, these karts are a significant step up from the simpler models Hudson has previously driven.

“I grabbed Chase’s gear for him and stuff, got my extra helmet, and he’s going to come drive my tag car for the first time,” Hailie explained in the video. “He’s only ever driven the go-kart at the house. That’s the closest thing he’s gotten to a faster go-kart.”

Despite her best efforts to coach him through the track’s challenges, Hudson struggled to keep the kart under control, repeatedly spinning out. A visibly frustrated Hailie quipped, “Boy, practice your driving. Everyone might think I’m overplaying it, but I’m not.”

Sibling dynamics aside, Hudson’s first outing underscored the steep learning curve in motorsports—a challenge even seasoned drivers like Hailie once faced. As she put it, “He’ll probably wreck a few times—hopefully not too bad.”

Sibling Rivalry or Stepping Stone to Greatness?

Hudson’s rough start raises an interesting question: does his early struggle hint at untapped potential or just highlight a playful sibling rivalry? Hailie’s tough-love approach mirrors the intensity that has propelled her career, suggesting that Hudson might need time to channel his skills into consistent performance. After all, Hailie herself has spent years honing her craft, and their brother Haiden, known as “Dangerboy,” has already proven his mettle in motocross and Supercross.

Haiden Deegan: The Family’s Motocross Prodigy

While Hudson takes baby steps in karting, Haiden Deegan is carving out his own legacy in the world of motocross. At just 18, Haiden has already clinched back-to-back 250 SMX World Championship titles (2023 and 2024) and the Pro Motocross championship earlier this year. His dominance in the SMX Playoffs, where he won five of six motos, has solidified his reputation as one of the sport’s brightest young talents.

Hailie was in the stands in September, cheering Haiden on during the SMX World Championship and later sharing her pride on Instagram. “Made the trip out to Vegas to watch @dangerboydeegan win the championship 🙌 @monsterenergy,” she wrote, celebrating yet another milestone for the Deegan family.

A Legacy of Motorsport Excellence

The Deegan siblings come from motorsport royalty—father Brian Deegan, a pioneer in freestyle motocross, laid the foundation for their shared passion. Now, Hailie, Haiden, and Hudson are forging their own paths, each with a unique approach to the racing world.

Hailie’s transition to IndyCar marks a bold new chapter, one that could inspire her younger brothers as they chase their own dreams. As Hudson navigates the challenges of karting and Haiden dominates motocross, the Deegan name continues to resonate across multiple disciplines.

What’s Next for the Deegans?

As Hailie Deegan gears up for her IndyCar debut, the motorsport world will watch to see how she adapts to the demands of open-wheel racing. Meanwhile, Haiden’s quest for further championships and Hudson’s early forays into competitive driving ensure the family’s motorsport saga is far from over.
