Haas shocks F1 world with astonishing performance: Oliver Bearman hails Barcelona shakedown triumph

Haas Rockets to the Top! Oliver Bearman Praises Team’s Astonishing Barcelona Shakedown Performance

In a stunning display of speed and resilience, Oliver Bearman has declared Haas’ performance during the Barcelona shakedown as “super impressive.” The young driver couldn’t contain his enthusiasm as the American team showcased their prowess in the initial testing phase, setting the bar high for the upcoming 2026 season.

With the new regulations shaking up the Formula 1 landscape, many teams, especially smaller constructors, often find themselves struggling to adapt. However, Haas has emerged as a formidable contender, putting in a remarkable number of laps that nearly equate to three full race distances in just one session. This impressive feat positions Haas among the top teams in Barcelona, second only to Red Bull in total laps completed.

Bearman expressed his pride and excitement following the end of Day 2 of testing, noting, “To be at the shakedown and to be at this test and do a whole day, we completed more than two race distances, closer to three, actually, with no major issues. It’s super, super impressive for our team.” His words reflect the collective ambition within Haas, as they strive to maximize their learning curve with each lap they complete.

The young driver emphasized the significance of this moment, stating, “Everybody should be really proud of that achievement. We’re setting our targets high. We want to continue to learn about this car.” Bearman is particularly energized by the potential for drivers to influence outcomes significantly, a rarity in the world of F1. “This is my first time being in this situation with a regulation change where, as drivers, we can have so much impact on the end result. So it’s a great prospect,” he added.

Despite encountering a minor issue during testing, Bearman remained optimistic. “It’s very early stages in this cycle of regulations, and we’ve had, up until now, very clean laps and very clean running,” he noted. The team’s rapid transition from Fiorano to Barcelona, completing their 200-kilometer limit and hitting the track by 9 AM just two days later, showcases their preparedness and determination.

Bearman acknowledged the challenges posed by the new regulations, explaining that while previous cars would have allowed for quicker troubleshooting, the intricacies of the new power units require more time and patience. “The problem would have taken maybe 30 minutes with last year’s car since everybody knew it so well; it took a lot longer just because there’s a few more intricate details,” he explained.

As the excitement builds for the 2026 season, Haas has proven they are ready to face the challenges head-on, with a promising start that has fans and analysts alike buzzing with anticipation. Will they maintain this momentum throughout the season? Only time will tell, but one thing is clear: Haas is making waves, and their impressive shakedown performance in Barcelona is just the beginning!
