The FIA did not accept the request for a review of the results of the United States Grand Prix in Formula 1, presented by Haas. The American team complained about track limit violations during the race in Austin.
In the first stage, the regulatory body acknowledged that there were indications of possible infractions at turn six, but the evidence was not strong enough to impose penalties.
In its action, Haas targeted four drivers, including Logan Sargeant (Williams), initiating the process of a direct review. This only results in a change if the submitter has new and relevant evidence for the case. A five-second penalty for Sargeant would have put one of the Haas drivers, Nico Hülkenberg, back in the points.
After the hearing phase, which involved directors and representatives from various teams, the stewards maintained that the evidence on which Haas relied already existed and was available at the time of the original decisions, and that it was not relevant. Therefore, the panel rejected the team’s request and considers the case closed.
