Haas F1 Shocks the Grid with Five Straight Point-Scoring Weekends, Eyeing Aston Martin in Constructors’ Standings

The Haas F1 Team is finally living up to its promise of “doing a lot of damage,” with five consecutive point-scoring weekends bolstering its standing in the constructors’ championship. Team Principal Ayao Komatsu couldn’t hold back his excitement as Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg’s seventh and ninth-place finishes at the Mexico City Grand Prix catapulted Haas 10 points clear of RB in sixth place.

“It’s just incredible,” Komatsu told SiriusXM. “The car, the team, everyone from the engineers to the communications team — every single person has made this happen. The focus on teamwork this year has been paying off in spades.”

This latest performance puts Haas within striking distance of its all-time record of six straight point finishes, set back in 2018, and the team is poised to match that milestone at the upcoming Sao Paulo Grand Prix in Brazil.

Reflecting on the team’s recent surge, Komatsu remarked, “I told the team with eight races left, every race weekend is our ‘cup final.’ The focus has to be absolute, with all hands on deck. And look at us now — we’re 10 points clear.”

Haas isn’t about to play it safe, either. With confidence soaring, Komatsu refuses to shift gears and settle into a defensive posture. In fact, he’s encouraging his team to set its sights higher, chipping away at the points gap to Aston Martin, currently fifth in the standings.

“We’re not changing our approach — it’s about looking forward and pushing for more,” Komatsu said. “Yes, P5 might seem out of reach, but we’re not here to protect a position. We’re here to maximize every single weekend and see how far we can go.”

With Brazil’s challenging Interlagos circuit up next, Komatsu remains optimistic. “This is a track that tests both driver and car, and we’ve shown our strength on diverse circuits like Austin and Mexico. I think we’re ready for it.”

As Haas heads into Brazil with momentum and ambition, the team’s newfound consistency and spirit of relentless forward momentum have caught the paddock’s attention. With Komatsu at the helm, Haas is primed to keep turning heads and prove that, in Formula 1, no dream is too big.
