Guenther Steiner Slams Lance Stroll’s ‘Invisible’ 2024 Performance with Aston Martin’s Decline

Guenther Steiner, team principal of Haas F1 Team, smiles as the team announces MoneyGram as their title sponsorship for the 2023 season and beyond during a press conference at Circuit of the Americas on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022. Formula One Mlc 00005

Aston Martin’s 2024 Formula 1 season has been nothing short of a nightmare, especially when compared to their promising start in 2023. While continues to fight for respectable finishes, Lance Stroll’s performance has been nothing but underwhelming, leaving the Canadian driver lagging far behind and catching the attention of none other than former Haas team principal, Guenther Steiner.

Stroll, who has only managed to score 24 points so far, sits a disappointing 11th in the standings. Multiple crashes and lackluster showings have cost the team dearly. Steiner, never one to hold back his opinion, took a swipe at the 25-year-old, highlighting how Stroll’s lackluster season has somehow flown under the radar.

“Lance [Stroll] passes completely under the radar. It’s weird. You never speak good or bad about him; he’s just non-existent,” Steiner remarked.

Despite the sporadic flashes of talent he showed in 2023, Stroll has been unable to capitalize this season, with no standout performances to his name. Steiner pointed out that Stroll has become a driver who barely gets any attention, whether he’s finishing in the points or not.

“I don’t know the guy, never spoke with him, so I have no idea. But he’s one of those guys who is rarely spoken about when he’s in the points. It’s even less spoken about when he’s not in the points. He’s just there,” Steiner added, making his thoughts crystal clear.

Aston Martin’s acquisition of engineering legend aims to rejuvenate the team’s prospects for the future, but questions still linger over Stroll’s place within the squad. With Stroll under increasing scrutiny, the Canadian driver will need to put in the work and produce results if he wants to shake off his current reputation and earn respect on the grid.
