In a masterclass of strategy and endurance, Grant Enfinger claimed his second consecutive NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series Playoff victory, clinching the Baptist Health 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The veteran driver’s calculated pit strategy and fuel management secured his place in the winner’s circle, while his closest competitors sputtered out of contention as they ran dry in the closing laps.
Fresh off a Playoff win at Talladega, Enfinger’s No. 9 CR7 Motorsports Chevrolet faced an early setback, suffering damage on a chaotic restart. However, a strategic call by his team—pitting for fuel and fresh tires on Lap 80—allowed him to take a decisive lead when rivals opted to refuel later at Lap 100. His gamble paid off, allowing him to save fuel and stretch his lead, ultimately cruising to victory with a staggering 17.5-second margin over ThorSport Racing’s Ty Majeski.
“Jeff [Hensley, crew chief] had this truck dialed in and kept me steady on tire and fuel management,” Enfinger said after his 12th career victory. “We’ve had potential all year, and maybe it’s finally our time to catch momentum.”
As Enfinger soared ahead, trucks on similar fuel-saving strategies, including Layne Riggs’ No. 38 and Nick Sanchez’s No. 2, sputtered to a halt in the final laps. The late-race drama dashed the Playoff hopes for those chasing a title-clinching automatic bid, meaning that at least two drivers will now advance to the Championship Four based on points alone after the final race of the round at Martinsville.
The intense battle at Homestead also saw Connor Mosack seize his career-best third-place finish, while Corey Heim, who dominated with 68 laps led, ended the day in fourth. Despite missing out on the win, Heim strengthened his hold on the championship standings, holding a critical 49-point cushion above the Playoff cut-off.
Next up, the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series heads to the famed Martinsville Speedway for the “Zip Buy Now, Pay Later 200” under the lights. With Championship Four spots on the line, all eyes will be on the top contenders, especially Playoff drivers like Eckes, Majeski, and Caruth as they vie for the remaining spots in the season’s final showdown.
