In a stunning turn of events, George Russell retains his victory at the Canadian Grand Prix as Red Bull’s protest is dismissed. The race was not only on the track but also in the courtroom of the FIA as Red Bull accused Russell of multiple infractions during the race, including irregular braking under the Safety Car and maintaining excessive distance from the Safety Car.

The drama unfolded for over five hours after the race had ended, with Red Bull adamantly pushing their claims against the Mercedes driver. Allegations of unsportsmanlike conduct were thrown in the mix, with Red Bull claiming that Max Verstappen had been overtaken by Russell under yellow flags.

After an intense hour of scrutiny, with George Russell and Mercedes representatives present, the FIA stewards ruled in favor of the British driver. They determined that Russell had not breached any rules and rejected all seven claims made by Red Bull, solidifying Russell’s well-deserved victory in the 2025 season.
