Mercedes currently holds the fourth position in terms of speed on the F1 grid of 2024. Mercedes driver George Russell shared his insights on the W15, stating that the car is not far behind in terms of performance compared to Ferrari and McLaren. Although the team had a slow start to the season, they have shown promising signs in recent races in Imola and Miami.

Russell provided further information on the situation at Mercedes, highlighting that the W15 has improved its speed on straights and now has better balance compared to the previous season. Although the German team has not yet secured a podium or a win, they remain optimistic about the progress made with the car.

The British driver also acknowledges that Ferrari and McLaren have made advancements in their development, but believes that Mercedes is not far behind. Both of Mercedes’ rivals in the 2024 season have already secured a win each and multiple podiums, showcasing their improved pace.

Currently, Red Bull continues to lead the standings, with McLaren and Ferrari closely following, narrowing the gap in terms of speed. Mercedes is now focused on further improvements and upgrades as the competition for the 2024 title heats up.

Lewis Hamilton shared his thoughts on the performance of fellow British driver Lando Norris. Norris has been in exceptional form this season, securing his first win in Miami and aiming to challenge for the driver’s championship.

Hamilton praised McLaren for their progress, stating that they have managed to reduce the gap to Red Bull and inspired other teams to do the same. The seven-time world champion also expressed Mercedes’ aspirations to match the performance levels of Ferrari, McLaren, and Red Bull.

The next Monaco Grand Prix will put the drivers and their teams to the test on one of the most challenging tracks on the F1 calendar. Lando Norris will look to capitalize on his current form and fight for a second victory, having lost by a margin of seven tenths in Imola.
