George Russell dá sugestões para a Mercedes melhorar o W15, descrevendo-o como estando em um equilíbrio precário.

George Russell achieved a sixth place in the 2024 Chinese Grand Prix. The Mercedes team had a disappointing start to their Formula 1 season this year. The W15 car, manufactured by the German company, was described by the drivers as being on the edge of a cliff. In an effort to improve the lackluster performance of the W15, the Brackley team will introduce upgrades in Miami. George Russell expressed his thoughts on how Mercedes can improve the performance and operational capabilities of the car. Toto Wolff, reflecting on the Chinese Grand Prix, discussed the issues with the W15. George Russell also shared his perspective on the matter. He believes the team should focus on the fundamentals and increase the car’s aerodynamic pressure to enhance its overall drivability. The success of the upgrades in Miami remains uncertain and only time will reveal their effectiveness. Lewis Hamilton and George Russell discussed the different setups they experienced during the Chinese Grand Prix. Hamilton even expressed regret for the changes he made after the qualifying race. However, Russell believes these setup changes are only superficial and that Mercedes needs to prioritize improving the performance of the W15 at its core. He also emphasized the importance of the team working on performance improvements at the factory, rather than making adjustments during race weekends. The reported issues with the simulator in Brackley add more intrigue about the performance of the upgrades in Miami.
