In a thrilling turn of events, rising star George Russell has shocked the Formula 1 world by snatching the pole position from the grasp of the formidable Max Verstappen at the Canadian Grand Prix with a jaw-dropping last-gasp lap.

The qualifying session was rife with drama as Lando Norris, who had shown strong form in practice, faced unexpected troubles, allowing Russell to swoop in and steal the show. Charles Leclerc, after a challenging start to the day, staged an impressive comeback, only to be outshone by the relentless Russell.

As tensions mounted on the track, a sudden halt was called when Alex Albon’s car suffered a catastrophic rear wing failure, scattering debris and causing chaos. The session resumed with Norris blazing to the top, leaving favorites like Verstappen trailing in his wake.

In a surprising twist, Pierre Gasly found himself at the bottom of the rankings in Q1, while Yuki Tsunoda’s hopes of making it to Q3 were dashed, relegating him to the back of the grid. Meanwhile, Norris, Piastri, and Verstappen battled fiercely for pole position, with Russell ultimately emerging victorious in a spectacular fashion.

The Canadian Grand Prix qualifying session was a rollercoaster of emotions, with Russell’s stunning performance securing him a well-deserved pole position. As the stage is set for an electrifying race day, all eyes will be on Russell and Verstappen as they go head-to-head on the iconic Montreal circuit.
