Genesis, the luxury brand of the Hyundai Group, continues to surprise its fans. After unveiling the hypercar, GMR-001, aimed at conquering the 24 Hours of Le Mans, it has now presented the GV60 Mountain Intervention Vehicle concept, designed for rescue tasks in rugged terrain and challenging weather conditions.
Unveiled at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, this concept is based on the Genesis compact SUV GV60 and has been designed for exceptional off-road performance, featuring tracks for snow instead of wheels. Although the brand has not disclosed the extent of the modifications, it is safe to say that Genesis engineers have made significant changes to the suspension to equip this model with snow tracks.
In addition to the tracks, the GV60 Mountain Intervention Vehicle concept features specific carbon fiber fenders and the installation of protective plates on the front and rear sections. Genesis has also added a new light signature and a light bar mounted on the roof rack.
The cabin is equipped with sports seats and includes a set of medical supplies necessary for rescue operations in rugged terrain, as well as a communication system. Genesis has also revealed that all accessories were meticulously selected based on their quality and durability.
It is certain that this concept of the GV60 Mountain Intervention Vehicle Concept will not lead to a production model; however, it is interesting to analyze how far the Hyundai group brand takes its vision of mobility.
“Genesis takes pride in creating safe and well-designed luxury vehicles that are bold, progressive, and distinctly Korean,” said Genesis’s creative director, Luc Donckerwolke. “The GV60 MIV Concept expands this vision of comfort and care.”
