General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is set to host the inaugural Blue Magic Netherlands (BMN) event on November 19, 2024, in Eindhoven, a city renowned for its technological advancements. The event aims to foster collaboration between Dutch startups, universities, government officials, and leaders from high-tech and aerospace industries, presenting an opportunity for Dutch innovators to showcase their capabilities to a global audience and access critical funding.
Notable speakers include Raymond Knops, Chairman of the Dutch Industry Foundation for Defence and Security (NIDV), and Thomas McSorley, General Counsel for NATO DIANA (Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic), both of whom will share insights into the future of defense technology. High-profile companies like Lockheed Martin Ventures, Brainport Development, and Brabant Development Agency (BOM) will also participate, further cementing BMN as a must-attend event for key players in the defense and aerospace sectors.
Brad Lunn, Managing Director of Strategic Finance at GA-ASI, emphasized the significance of BMN, stating, “We’re excited to launch this event in the Netherlands, which will bring together the best of Dutch industry and innovation. We are already engaged with companies who have contacted us to pitch their capabilities for possible inclusion in Blue Magic and open up funding opportunities.”
The event will focus on breakthrough technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, autonomy, advanced materials, sensors, and space-related innovations. These areas represent the next frontier in defense, security, and aerospace, offering the Dutch tech ecosystem a platform to collaborate and engage with global leaders like GA-ASI.
GA-ASI has a strong presence in the Netherlands, having delivered MQ-9A Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) to the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF) in 2021. The company also recently expanded its MQ-9A fleet for the RNLAF to a total of eight aircraft, underscoring its commitment to enhancing Dutch defense capabilities.
Dutch companies interested in participating are encouraged to register by October 28, 2024, for the chance to pitch their innovations and secure strategic partnerships and investment opportunities.
With Eindhoven’s reputation as a global tech hub and GA-ASI’s focus on next-gen dual-use technologies, BMN 2024 is poised to drive significant advancements in both defense and civilian sectors.
