Gasly: Alpine needs to replicate success at the Spanish Grand Prix

Gasly achieved a ninth place in the Spanish Grand Prix, extending his recent streak of scoring points. Gasly had a strong qualifying session, starting in seventh place, and managed to secure a ninth place despite losing to Red Bull’s Sergio Perez on the final lap. He expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance and direction. Gasly and his teammate, Esteban Ocon, were surprised by Alpine’s sudden improvement and admitted that they still do not fully understand the reasons behind it. They believe that further analysis and evaluation will be crucial to replicate this performance in future races. Gasly acknowledged that the team has shown potential in certain circumstances and conditions that they need to uncover in order to consistently perform at a high level. He highlighted that this race in Barcelona was the first time Alpine scored points through genuine merit, and he is seeking more consistency in his performances. In the last three races, they have consistently scored points in Monaco, Canada, and now in Spain, showcasing their progress. Gasly noted that Monaco was a unique track, while Canada had mixed conditions that leveled the playing field. However, in the Spanish Grand Prix, Alpine demonstrated superior pace compared to their competitors.
