Fuel prices will increase again next week, interrupting a sequence of two consecutive weeks of decline.
Thus, according to “Eco”, in the early hours of next Monday, October 23, the price of diesel, the most commonly used fuel in Portugal, is expected to decrease by 2 cents per liter, to an average price of 1.731 euros per liter, while unleaded 95 gasoline is expected to increase by 2.5 cents per liter, to an average price of 1.785 euros.
According to the specialized publication in economic matters, these prices already take into account the discounts applied by the fuel companies and the revision of temporary fiscal measures to help mitigate the increase in fuel prices, which are updated at the beginning of each month.
The increase in fuel prices is justified by the increase in the price of raw materials in international markets, due to uncertainties that the conflict in Gaza may spread to other countries in the Middle East and disrupt the supply of oil from one of the world’s most productive regions.
