From Lamborghini to Bugatti: New Biopic Set to Bring Ettore Bugatti’s Story to the Big Screen

Hot on the heels of the acclaimed Lamborghini and Ferrari biopics, celebrated Italian producer Andrea Iervolino is revving up for his next automotive masterpiece—a biopic focused on Ettore Bugatti, the legendary founder and first CEO of the Bugatti brand. This upcoming film promises to delve into the fascinating life of Bugatti, exploring both the triumphs and tragedies that shaped one of the most iconic names in automotive history.

Set to begin filming in 2025, the untitled Bugatti biopic will transport audiences to the early 20th century, capturing the birth of the Bugatti company in 1909 and its meteoric rise to prominence as a symbol of luxury and performance. But the film won’t just celebrate Bugatti’s success; it will also explore the darker moments, particularly the devastating loss of Ettore’s son in 1939, which forever changed the course of the company.

Much like Iervolino’s previous films on Ferrari and Lamborghini, the Bugatti biopic will feature an international cast and be shot in English, with filming locations set across France and Italy to authentically capture the landscapes that helped shape the Bugatti legacy. While casting has not yet been announced, fans are expecting big names to follow in the footsteps of Adam Driver, who starred in Iervolino’s Ferrari biopic, and Frank Grillo, who portrayed Lamborghini’s founder.

“After the success of our films on Lamborghini and Ferrari, I am thrilled to bring another global automotive icon to the screen,” Iervolino stated. “Bugatti will be a film that honors the passion and innovation that have defined one of the most iconic car manufacturers of all time.”

This latest project is part of a larger trend of car-centric films gaining momentum. Along with the upcoming Maserati: The Brothers, which will star Academy Award-winner Anthony Hopkins and Michele Marrone, the film world is seeing a resurgence of interest in automotive legends. Additionally, John Cena is set to star in a film based on Matchbox toy cars, while Netflix is producing a new series on the life of F1 legend Ayrton Senna.

With filming scheduled for 2025, fans of high-speed thrills and legendary car brands can look forward to another immersive journey into the world of motorsports, innovation, and human perseverance with the story of Ettore Bugatti. Buckle up—this is one ride you won’t want to miss.
