It’s not an April Fool’s gag anymore! Susie Wolff, the significant other of Toto Wolff, the team principal of Mercedes Formula 1, is reportedly strategizing to throw her hat in the ring for the presidency of Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). This surprising development emerges amidst ongoing animosity between the current FIA President and the affluent Wolff duo, a discord further fuelled by a contentious probe into a possible conflict of interest.

The year 2023 witnessed Ben Sulayem instigating an investigation into a potential conflict, which has seemingly led to a new twist in the tale with Susie Wolff’s rumored bid for the FIA presidency. The story that began as an April Fool’s jest last year on GRANDPRIX247 might soon become a reality, and if it does, it’s bound to send ripples across the Formula 1 fraternity.

The Wolffs and the current FIA President have been involved in a long-standing feud. This contentious relationship has been aggravated by a controversial inquiry into a potential conflict of interest. The probe was initiated late last year by Ben Sulayem, which has since then stirred the pot, leading to the current rumors about Susie Wolff’s potential presidential bid.

The FIA has been an esteemed organization that governs numerous international motorsports events, including the premier Formula 1 races. A change in its leadership could have significant implications on the future direction of these high-profile sporting events.

If Susie Wolff does decide to vie for the FIA presidency, it will certainly add a new dynamic to the ongoing saga. The outcome of this power struggle could have far-reaching effects on the world of Formula 1 racing and beyond. This is indeed a developing story that racing enthusiasts and followers of Formula 1 will be keenly watching.
