Frey substitui Pin lesionado na equipe Iron Dames Le Mans.

Doriane Pin announces her withdrawal from the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 15-16, following a recent incident at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit that resulted in broken ribs.

Due to her new commitment to the F1 Academy and the Alpine Formula Regional European Championship (FRECA), Pin planned to step away from her obligations in the 2024 World Endurance Championship, except for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

However, there has been a change of plans. Rahel Frey will replace Pin from the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps onwards until the end of the season, including the fourth round of the WEC.

The 20-year-old French driver stated: “After additional medical examinations, it was discovered that I have fractured ribs. This means I need time to recover, so the team and I have made the difficult decision not to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans or the FRECA races in Zandvoort.

“This decision is challenging and sad, especially because Le Mans is one of the most important races of the year and holds a special place in my heart. I was looking forward to racing there and sharing this week with all of you and, of course, with my team.

“However, I must prioritize my well-being and the well-being of the Iron Dames.”

Frey, who has previously competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans four times with the all-female Iron Dames team, will participate for the fifth time in place of Pin. She will join teammates Michelle Gatting and Sarah Bovy.

After securing their first victory in the WEC season finale in Bahrain last year, the trio continues their journey in the LMGT3 era with their Lamborghini Huracan LMGT3 EVO2 #85 for this year’s 92nd edition of Le Mans.
