Frederik Vesti in place of Lewis Hamilton in FP1 of the Abu Dhabi GP.

After running in the first free practice of the Mexico City GP, Frederik Vesti will return to action in the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 GP. The driver will be in Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes during the opening session at Yas Marina.

All teams are required to use rookie drivers (with less than two races of experience in F1) in at least two rounds of the season. The German team complies with this regulation.

Vesti will also have commitments in Formula 2 in Abu Dhabi. He will fight for the title, as he is currently second, 25 points behind leader Théo Pourchaire. The Danish driver will then stay at the same circuit to participate in the rookie test with Mercedes.
