Ferrari’s Team Principal Frederic Vasseur Talks Stability and Success in Le Mans and Canada

In a whirlwind weekend for Ferrari, the iconic Italian team celebrated a historic third consecutive victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, only to face a lackluster performance at the Canadian Grand Prix shortly after. Team Principal Frederic Vasseur didn’t mince his words when he pointed out that the team made far too many errors in Montreal, emphasizing the crucial importance of flawless execution in Formula 1.

Despite the setbacks in Canada, Vasseur remains optimistic about upcoming updates for the car, expected before the Silverstone race. Reflecting on Ferrari’s triumph at Le Mans, Vasseur praised the outstanding performance of driver Robert Kubica, whom he described as “an alien” for his incredible achievements. Vasseur commended Kubica’s determination and resilience, highlighting his remarkable skills behind the wheel.

Drawing a comparison between Ferrari’s performance in Grand Prix races and endurance events like Le Mans, Vasseur underscored the value of stability within the team. He attributed Ferrari’s success in Le Mans to the consistency of having the same six drivers on the official cars, including Kubica, and praised the team’s leadership for their experience and steady presence. Vasseur expressed pride in Ferrari’s performance, with three cars at the top and three consecutive victories showcasing the team’s strength and stability.

Addressing rumors of a possible separation between himself and Ferrari at the end of the year, Vasseur acknowledged the impact of media speculation on team morale. He lamented the negative effects of unfounded rumors on team members, highlighting the unnecessary distractions and disruptions caused by such reports. Vasseur emphasized the need for focus and unity within the team to maintain competitiveness and achieve success in the face of external pressures.

As Ferrari navigates the highs and lows of the racing world, Vasseur’s steadfast leadership and commitment to excellence remain unwavering. With the promise of upcoming developments and a resilient team spirit, Ferrari looks ahead to future challenges with determination and a drive for victory.
