Ferrari Suffers Major Setbacks in F1 2025: Falling Behind in the Championship Race

In a shocking turn of events, Ferrari boss Fred Vasseur has come clean about the team’s struggles during the 2025 Formula 1 season. Despite their high expectations, Ferrari has failed to secure a Grand Prix win, putting them at a disadvantage compared to their competitors.

The recent triumph of Mercedes in Canada has highlighted Ferrari’s lackluster performance, with the Italian team trailing behind in the championship standings. While Ferrari managed to clinch victory in the Sprint Race in China, a subsequent double disqualification due to technical violations has marred their season.

Vasseur admitted, “We didn’t do a good job on our side… we were 60 points behind Red Bull and Mercedes at this stage of the season.” Although Ferrari has made progress to third place in the Constructors’ Championships, they still lag a significant 197 points behind McLaren.

The team’s decline is not solely attributed to their pace on the track. Vasseur emphasized that Ferrari’s inability to maximize their points each weekend has also contributed to their struggles. He acknowledged missed opportunities and a lack of consistency compared to the previous season.

Despite their setbacks, Vasseur remains optimistic about Ferrari’s potential for improvement. He emphasized the need to continue striving for better results and closing the gap with their rivals, especially McLaren, who currently hold the upper hand.

Vasseur also addressed the perception that McLaren’s surge has overshadowed Ferrari’s performance, stating, “The initial goal was to fight for the championship… probably McLaren is one step ahead compared to everybody.”

As Ferrari works to regain its competitive edge in the F1 2025 season, the pressure is on to deliver stronger performances and challenge for the championship title. Will Ferrari rise to the occasion and turn their season around, or will McLaren’s dominance continue to overshadow their efforts on the track? The battle for supremacy in Formula 1 rages on, with Ferrari determined to reclaim their position at the top.
