Scuderia Ferrari is gearing up for a pivotal 2025 Formula 1 campaign, with team boss Fred Vasseur optimistic about the team’s chances as seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton joins the storied Italian outfit. Ferrari, which finished second in the Constructors’ Championship last season, aims to build on its late-2024 resurgence.

Ferrari’s Late-Season Momentum

Reflecting on 2024, Vasseur noted Ferrari’s strong form in the latter part of the season, particularly after the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. Charles Leclerc emerged as the highest points scorer from that point onward, signaling Ferrari’s ability to challenge for victories once operational flaws were addressed.

“If you have a look at this season [2024], I think Charles scored the biggest number of points after Monza, or something like this, when we started to react and do a better job on our side,” Vasseur stated.

This resurgence has bolstered Vasseur’s belief that Ferrari can mount a serious challenge in 2025, provided the team minimizes mistakes and maximizes its performance consistently.

“Everything is possible, it’s just a matter of putting everything together to minimize the number of mistakes,” he emphasized.

Hamilton’s Impact and a Tight Battle Ahead

Hamilton’s arrival at Ferrari brings not only experience but a fresh perspective to the team’s operations. Vasseur acknowledged that the British driver’s influence could be pivotal in refining the team’s processes and elevating its competitiveness.

However, Vasseur was quick to highlight the intense competition awaiting Ferrari in 2025. With Red Bull, McLaren, and Mercedes all expected to be strong contenders, the battle for supremacy will leave little room for error.

“The fight will be tight between the four teams. I’m sure that Mercedes and Red Bull will be back. McLaren will still be there. It means that we have to fine-tune everything and make improvements where we lacked last season.”

A New Chapter for Ferrari

Hamilton’s arrival represents an exciting new chapter for Ferrari, blending the wisdom of a seasoned champion with the raw talent of Charles Leclerc. While the team has momentum on its side, the challenge remains ensuring their 2025 car is a race-winning contender from the very first Grand Prix.

As Vasseur succinctly put it, “It’s all about execution. If we can deliver on our potential, there’s no limit to what we can achieve.” With Hamilton’s quest for an eighth world title and Leclerc’s hunger for his first, Ferrari is poised to mount one of its strongest campaigns in years.
