Fred Vasseur Declares He’s ‘Not Scared at All’ Over Hamilton and Leclerc Rivalry at Ferrari
Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has stated that he is not worried about the potential rivalry between Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc as the two star drivers prepare to race together at Maranello. With Hamilton joining Ferrari for the 2025 season, many have speculated that the seven-time world champion could clash with Leclerc, who has been the face of Ferrari since 2019.
However, Vasseur believes that a competitive dynamic between the two drivers will only benefit the team. He emphasized that the competition between Hamilton and Leclerc would inspire both to push their limits and strive for excellence throughout the season.
“Honestly, I’m not scared at all [of them competing], because we need to have this kind of emulation,” Vasseur said, pointing out that healthy competition is essential for Ferrari to perform at the highest level. He also noted that similar positive competition was evident last season when Carlos Sainz raced alongside Leclerc.
Vasseur is confident that Hamilton will continue to foster this positive competition and help the team fight for the constructors’ title in 2025. “As a team, if we want to perform, we need to have two drivers performing. We need to have two drivers in a kind of competition, a positive competition and a positive emulation. And I’m sure that it will be the case,” Vasseur added.
