Franz Tost’s Shocking Revelation: Liam Lawson’s Fate Sealed Against Yuki Tsunoda’s Brilliance

Former AlphaTauri team principal, Franz Tost, has delivered a scathing assessment of Red Bull’s decision to promote Liam Lawson, stating that the young driver lacks the natural talent to match his teammate, Yuki Tsunoda. Tost boldly declared, “You can give him 100 years, he won’t be as fast as Yuki.”

Following lackluster performances by Lawson in the first two races of the season, Red Bull made a strategic driver swap, replacing Lawson with the more experienced Tsunoda. Tost, a seasoned figure in Formula 1, did not mince his words when critiquing Lawson’s speed and abilities compared to Tsunoda.

In a recent interview, Tost emphasized Tsunoda’s exceptional natural speed and highlighted the importance of consistency and emotional control in racing. Despite retiring from Formula 1 in 2023, Tost’s insight into Tsunoda’s driving style remains valuable, as he praised the Japanese driver’s potential to excel in the sport.

Contrary to Red Bull’s decision to elevate Lawson, Tost’s blunt evaluation suggests that the young driver is simply not on par with Tsunoda. With Tsunoda now behind the wheel, the team anticipates a more competitive dynamic between teammates, setting the stage for an intense battle on the track.

As Red Bull aims to reclaim its dominance in the World Constructors’ Championship, Tost’s bold remarks add fuel to the ongoing debate surrounding the team’s driver lineup. The upcoming races will serve as a litmus test to determine whether Tost’s confidence in Tsunoda’s capabilities is justified or if Lawson’s demotion was a misstep by the team management.
