Frankie Muniz Jr. is steering his life into the fast lane—both on the track and on screen. The 39-year-old former child star, who made a name for himself in Malcolm in the Middle, is all set to tackle a full-time NASCAR Truck Series schedule in 2025 while reprising his iconic role as Malcolm Wilkerson in a Disney+ revival of the beloved sitcom. With two high-octane ventures ahead, Muniz Jr.’s next year is shaping up to be nothing short of extraordinary.

Back on the Track: Muniz Jr. Commits to Full-Time Racing

After dabbling in NASCAR’s Truck Series in 2024 with a handful of starts, Muniz Jr. is now going all-in with Reaume Brothers Racing. He’ll pilot the No. 33 Ford for the 2025 season, marking a significant step in his racing career. While his first four Truck Series outings didn’t yield standout results—his highest finish being 29th—Muniz Jr. remains undeterred.

“I’m ready to prove myself,” said Muniz Jr., who previously finished an impressive fourth in the 2023 ARCA Menards Series. “Racing is something I’ve always been passionate about, and getting a full-time opportunity is a dream come true. I’m looking forward to showing what I can do with a full season under my belt.”

The jump to full-time racing comes after years of balancing acting and motorsports. Muniz Jr., who has been candid about his struggles with memory loss due to concussions, says that racing has become his true passion. “It’s about focus and precision—things I thrive on. I can’t wait to hit the track and compete at the highest level,” he shared.

Return to Sitcom Glory: The Wilkersons Reunite

As if a full-time racing schedule wasn’t enough, Muniz Jr. is also preparing for a major on-screen comeback. Malcolm in the Middle, the show that made him a household name in the early 2000s, is returning with a four-episode revival on Disney+. The original cast, including Bryan Cranston (Hal) and Jane Kaczmarek (Lois), will reunite under the direction of the show’s creator, Linwood Boomer.

The announcement came via a heartwarming teaser featuring Cranston and Kaczmarek calling out for “Malcolm,” to which Muniz Jr. responds, “Yes, I hear you. I’m coming!” Disney+ revealed the plot centers around Malcolm and his daughter being drawn back into the chaos of the Wilkerson family for Hal and Lois’s 40th wedding anniversary.

“I’ve been waiting for this moment for 18 years,” Muniz Jr. said in the teaser. “Let’s find out where Malcolm and his family are now.” The revival promises to mix nostalgia with new twists, offering fans a fresh glimpse into the lives of their favorite dysfunctional family.

Balancing Two High-Pressure Worlds

The dual commitments of a full-time NASCAR season and a high-profile TV revival would be daunting for most, but Muniz Jr. sees it as an opportunity. “I thrive on challenges,” he said. “It’s going to be an intense year, but I’ve got an incredible support system in both my racing team and the Malcolm crew.”

Fans of Muniz Jr. are eager to see how he juggles both pursuits. His journey from Hollywood to NASCAR has been anything but conventional, and this latest chapter only adds to his unique story.

Revisiting the Show That Made Him a Star

While Muniz Jr. has admitted to having little memory of his Malcolm in the Middle days due to his busy schedule and past concussions, he recently rewatched all 151 episodes with his wife. “Watching it as a fan was a surreal experience,” he said. “It made me appreciate the show in a whole new way.”

Bryan Cranston, who played Hal, echoed Muniz Jr.’s excitement for the revival. “I miss these people like crazy,” Cranston said in a past interview. “Reuniting to tell another chapter of the Wilkersons’ story feels like coming home.”

Can He Deliver in Both Arenas?

Muniz Jr.’s commitment to both racing and acting is a testament to his work ethic and versatility. With Reaume Brothers Racing banking on his potential and Disney+ banking on his star power, 2025 will be a defining year for the former child star.

Whether he’s navigating the tight turns of a NASCAR track or the chaotic antics of the Wilkerson household, Frankie Muniz Jr. is ready to shine. Fans of both motorsports and sitcoms will be watching closely to see if he can pull off this double-duty feat. One thing’s for sure: Frankie Muniz Jr. isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Are you ready for his high-speed return to racing and TV?
