Franco Colapinto: The Rising Star Set to Continue with Alpine Amid Fan Support

In a thrilling development for Formula 1 fans, it appears that Franco Colapinto is poised to extend his tenure with Alpine for the 2026 season. This news comes as a wave of support surges from the F1 community, with a majority believing that the 22-year-old Argentine racer has demonstrated enough potential to earn his spot alongside the seasoned Pierre Gasly.

Rumors swirling from RacingNews365 suggest that Colapinto’s contract extension is on the horizon, allowing him to harness the might of Mercedes power in the upcoming season. Although Team Enstone has yet to make an official announcement, the anticipation is palpable as fans eagerly await confirmation of this exciting partnership.

Colapinto’s journey has not been without its challenges. After stepping into the second Alpine seat following Jack Doohan’s exit post-Miami Grand Prix, the young driver faced a rocky start with the notoriously difficult A525 car. Despite the pressure, he has shown resilience and improvement in recent races, gradually closing the performance gap with his teammate Gasly. This progress has reportedly caught the attention of Alpine’s management, including the influential Flavio Briatore, who is keen to see Colapinto prove himself further on the track.

While the only serious contender for the seat was reserve driver Paul Aron, the landscape of F1 remains unpredictable. Potential vacancies loom for drivers like Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson, but Alpine seems focused on sticking with their current lineup rather than exploring external options.

A recent poll conducted by RacingNews365 revealed that a compelling 54% of voters are backing Colapinto for the next season, signaling a strong endorsement from fans who are eager to see the young talent thrive. The remaining votes suggest a divided opinion on whether Alpine should pursue alternative candidates, but the momentum behind Colapinto is undeniable.

As the 2026 season approaches, the question on everyone’s lips is: Is Franco Colapinto the right choice for Alpine? With the backing of a passionate fanbase and a growing track record, all eyes will be on the Argentine as he gears up to cement his legacy in the high-octane world of Formula 1.
