Franco Colapinto Threatens Jack Doohan’s Future at Alpine

In a shocking turn of events for Formula 1 fans, Franco Colapinto is inching closer to securing a seat at Alpine, potentially jeopardizing Jack Doohan’s racing future. The Australian driver faced a major setback after a crash at Suzuka on April 4 during Free Practice 2, raising concerns about his performance and consistency on the track.

Doohan’s turbulent journey in Formula 1 continued as he lost control of his car while attempting a risky maneuver at Turn 1, leading to a high-speed collision with the wall. This incident added to a series of mishaps for the 22-year-old, who has struggled to match the pace of his counterparts and failed to score any championship points so far.

The financial implications of Doohan’s crashes, coupled with his lackluster track record, have put his future at Alpine in jeopardy. With the emergence of Franco Colapinto, who impressed during his stint with Williams in 2024, the pressure on Doohan has intensified. Colapinto’s recent test sessions at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza have further solidified his position as a strong contender for a spot in Alpine’s driver lineup.

Alpine’s strategic investment in Colapinto, reportedly amounting to £17m, highlights their commitment to nurturing young talent and securing promising drivers for the future. The team’s decision to give testing opportunities to all three reserve drivers, including Colapinto, Paul Aron, and Ryo Hirakawa, signifies a potential shift in their lineup for the upcoming seasons.

As Colapinto continues to showcase his skills and adaptability to Alpine’s technical specifications, Doohan’s position within the team appears increasingly uncertain. While there is no definitive confirmation of Doohan’s exit from Alpine ahead of the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix, the signs point to a possible changing of the guard in the world of Formula 1.

The clash between Doohan and Colapinto for a coveted spot at Alpine sets the stage for a fierce battle on and off the track, as both drivers vie for a chance to make their mark in one of the most prestigious racing championships in the world. Stay tuned as the drama unfolds in the high-octane world of Formula 1.
