Franco Colapinto reveals game-changing pre-season boost ahead of crucial 2026 F1 season

Franco Colapinto: The Rising Star Who's Set to Dominate F1 in 2026!

Buckle up, motorsport fans! The Formula 1 world is buzzing with excitement as Franco Colapinto, the 22-year-old Argentinian prodigy, gears up for the 2026 season. After a rollercoaster ride through the 2025 campaign, Colapinto is ready to unleash his potential, and he's revealing exactly how an essential change has turbocharged his preparations!

In a dramatic twist, Alpine placed their faith in Colapinto late last year, confirming him as the teammate to Pierre Gasly for the upcoming season. This decision came on the heels of Colapinto's challenging stint in 2025, where he stepped in to replace Jack Doohan but failed to score any points. Yet, the young driver showed remarkable resilience, narrowing the performance gap to Gasly as the season progressed.

With whispers of uncertainty swirling around his future, Alpine silenced the skeptics in early November by announcing Colapinto's continuation with the team. But here's the game-changer: Colapinto had never experienced a full pre-season testing program in his two stints with F1, including his time with Williams. This year, however, the tide has turned, and he's reveling in the opportunity to hit the track ahead of the season opener.

Speaking passionately at the Bahrain International Circuit, Colapinto expressed how this pre-season has been a revelation. “Yeah, it really helped,” he emphasized, noting that the mileage he’s racked up is equivalent to nearly half the races he competed in last year. “I’m much closer to what the other guys have been learning, and, of course, running,” he added, underlining the significance of this invaluable experience.

His hard work is paying off—Colapinto recorded a stellar fastest lap time of 1m33.818s during the week, just four tenths shy of Gasly’s top mark, and completed an impressive 968 laps, placing him 11th overall in distance covered. “That's something I’ve been missing last year and the year before. So it’s a big step. And, of course, it always helps,” Colapinto exclaimed, showcasing his determination to close the gap and make his mark in the competitive world of F1.

As the excitement builds and the engines roar to life, all eyes will be on Colapinto. With a solid pre-season under his belt and renewed confidence, could this be the year he breaks through? The stage is set, and the countdown to the 2026 Formula 1 season has officially begun! Get ready for a thrilling ride!
